Belarusians in the Battle of Monte Cassino The book is about a major World War II battle that involved thousands of Belarusians. Many of them did not return home and were laid to rest at Monte Cassino cemeteries. It includes the list of Belarusians killed in the battle and buried in Italy. Complemented with documents and witnesses' accounts, the book provides information about the battle and helps understand World War II events. It follows the fate of Belarusians attached to the Polish Corps commanded by Lt. Gen. Wladyslaw Anders. The book includes Death and Nightingales, a facts-based story by Pyotra Sych about the Monte Cassino operation. The book targets readers interested in history of the Belarusian people.
