Equivalent A collection of emigration historical prose Belarusians who left their country seeking refuge rather than better life remained patriots of their Motherland in exile. The Motherland mistreated and forced them to leave. Emigrants have used all possible opportunities and occasions to tell others about what happened, about their destinies and countries in which they settled. Under the Soviet rule, Belarus' history was written and rewritten to satisfy the ruling clique. The Soviet government had its ideology, which almost has not changed to date. Those who left looked at developments from a different perspective and could see things better than from the inside. They observed and wrote to shed light on the truth. Although their books were banned for quite a long time in Belarus the urge to express themselves did not allow them to keep silence. Equivalent is a collection of studies by historians whose perception was not influenced by censorship and government ideology.
