This album presents the results of the second Belarus Press Photo contest. In 2010, we received more than 2,000 contest photos from 72 Belarusian photo journalists, employees of the state and independent media. Under the cover of this album, you will find photos taken by the winners and some finalists of the contest in 8 nominations: News, People in the News, Life, Sport, Portraits, Arts and Entertainment, Nature and Traditions (the last nomination was introduced in the contest for the first time). This year the jury critiqued single photos and photo-series separately. We plan to continue this practice from now on. The press photo contest was founded last year by professional Belarusian photo-reporters. For two years of our contest's existence, the work of our winners has been exhibited in Minsk, Hrodna, Brest, and also abroad - in Moscow, Kyiv, Lviv, Krakow, Warsaw and other cities.
