An asset of the print media is that it reflects the life of society and takes an unbiased look at developments. The Niva weekly is a unique periodical based in Bialystok. The newspaper is evidence of Belarusian presence in the area. Flipping through newspaper pages one can find out about everything that happened and that is happening. This is a history written by journalists. For this reason, the weekly's board published Correspondents' True Accounts. The Anthology of Niva Stories (1956-2005). The collection includes the most interesting and important stories. It consists of five chapters covering specific chronological periods. The book is a good source of knowledge for historians and a significant contribution to the cultural legacy of Belarusians living in the Padlasie area.
