The collection includes material presented at the 3rd International Congress of Belarusists and focuses on communication of Belarusian culture with other cultures in the area of language and language studies. The book can be tentatively divided into several parts. Some works explore Belarusian language revival, which coincided with World War I. During that period Belarusian culture established close links with other cultures, languages. A variety of cultures and languages in Belarus created conditions for intercommunication. Another part covers the contemporary period. The authors analyze obstacles and problems in the establishment of national identity. The third part highlights new research concerning the art of translation, dictionary creation and the use of new words
