A Celebration in the Garden Plays Written by Belarusian Emigrants in the 20th Century Kastus Akula, Natallya Arsenneva, Antos Halina, Pyotra Krycheuski, Auhen Kavaleuski, Lyavon Yurevich, Yanka Yukhnavets are the authors who were forced to flee their Motherland and worked to promote the Belarusian language and culture abroad. A Celebration in the Garden features works of drama by these authors translated from other languages. Most of the plays were published in periodicals such as Batskaushchyna and Belarus before. They were intended for Belarusian emigrants and their children. The book includes a research paper by Lyavon Yurevich on history of Belarusian theater art and dramaturgy in emigration, and a bibliography of plays, reviews and newspaper articles about theater and playwrights.
