Беларуска-Амэрыканская Фатаграфія

This anthology has been planned as a periodical about photography. Belarus has a quite remarkable history of the fine-art photography, although our country doesn’t have (and didn’t have under the occupation) any high school nor even any college which train the photographers and photoartists. But many talented photoartists as well as local historians with the photo camera, photoreporters and amateur photographers acted in Belarus. We have never had any periodical about photography. It testifies that the Belarusian photography doesn’t exist as the art. There were and are many original authors, but the fine-art photography didn’t be recognized as a national characteristic (one of the conditions of the recognition is the existence of the periodic about photography). In terms of the art history the fine-art photography in Belarus represents the eternal amateur activities and reportages due to lack of communication with the nation’s fate.
