Place of Publication -- Paris The opening book of the Batskaushchyna Library series is a collection of selected works published in the Paris-based Moladz magazine between 1948 and 1954. It gives a glimpse of life of Belarusian youths in France and reveals hitherto unknown details relating to a new wave of post-World War II emigration. Apart from poems, short novels, stories and recollections, the reader will find a timeline of events involving the Belarusian community in France, letters sent from and to the editorial staff, documents and recollections of one of the founders of the magazine, Mikhas Navumovich. The book gives readers an opportunity to learn more about people who found themselves abroad but who did not forget their language and culture, and remained Belarusians for the rest of their lives. They used the magazine to pass their knowledge of their country's history to their descendants. Moladz contributors write about major historical events, renowned writers, artists and public figures who fought for Belarus' independence. The book, which revives memories and boosts national pride, targets a broad audience
