Polish Flowers Juljan Tuwim By Vasil Syomukha, the translator The poem is poetry flowers picked by Juljan Tuwin in the field, meadows, forests and gardens of Poland. They constitute a harmonious bunch blessed with talent and tied together with hard-working hands. The poem gives a glimpse of Poland, a broad picture of the country as it was in the first four decades of the last century. Tuwin creates an image of his Motherland, which he holds dear to his heart, his affection reinforced by separation during World War II. The book does not have a traditional plot. Like a bunch of flowers, the poem is a wholesome piece composed of various colors with elements of lyrics, hymn and elegy decorated by Tuwim's irony, humor, sarcasm and fascination. The poem thrives with civic, personal and private life, memories of childhood, stories about friends and enemies, reflections on poetry and arts, good and evil.
