Fated to Anxiety Poems By Zhminko Kastus A book of poetry by Kastus Zhminko, a Brest-based poet, includes poems written long ago and quite recently. As Kastus said, "I needed to collect and arrange into a system all that piled up in the last two years." He piled up a lot. Fated to Anxiety came out together with another volume, Kastus Said, a collection of thoughts, expressions, notes and short verses. Fated to Anxiety features poems laced with reflections, dedications, observations and appeals. The poems are concise and simple, funny and serious, imbued with respect for the teacher and playful. They reflect various moods and states of mind, exposing the author's character. At first glance, he seems to be a mature and serious man, but his poems reveal his provocative spirit, young soul and ability to torment himself and his ill-wishers. The poetry creates an image of Kastus Zhminko different from how he is seen by Brest residents. (N.H.)
