The Horki District: Descriptive and Analytical Story Who can write better about a place than locally-born people? The descriptive and analytical story is a result of collaboration with Horki district residents. The authors describe the lavish beauty of the district located in eastern Belarus. They show ancient cultural and historical legacy of Horki and surrounding territories through the prism of history. But the authors do not limit the book to history narrative. The main purpose is to encourage everyone to look closely at one's native land, pay attention to the area day-to-day problems and think of possible solutions. The authors set the stage for discussions of the Horki district's future, stressing the importance of a concerted effort. Much space in the story is devoted to Belarusian Agricultural Academy, which trains farming specialists
