The Repatriation and Migration of Border Area Residents in the 20th Century Progress of Research and Sources on History of Polish-Lithuanian-Belarusian Border Relations The third publication of material presented at International Historical Conferences on Belarusian-Lithuanian-Polish Border Areas focuses on one of the most tragic developments in the 20th century. The repatriation and resettlement of people based on their ethnic roots and religion was a catastrophe for minority ethnic groups in the 20th century. The publication highlights the issue of interethnic relations in Second Rzeczpospolita during the interwar period. The authors throw the light on thorny issues of that period that continue to affect relations between the three nations up till now. Polish authors raised for the first time the issue of assimilation and resettlement of Belarusian and Ukrainians during the interwar period. One of the researchers' objectives was to find a common approach to war-time repatriation. International conferences hosted by Bialystok University offer an opportunity to share the results of historical research and find common approaches to the tough problems of Belarusian-Lithuanian-Polish relations.
