The burning candle

In December 1991 the Byelorussian people celebrate the hundredth birthday of Maksim Bagdanovich, a well-known poet, one of the founders of modern Byelorussian poesy. This booklet contains many verses from his first collection “Garland” and from some other books, published after his death. The poet’s verses are so melodious that they are easily set to music. The works of M. Bagdanovich have been translated into many languages of the world.
