Folklore Practices Methodological Directions and Questionnaire By Kavalyova R. M., Marozava T. A., Pryyemka V. V. While studying Belarusian literature, philology students first examine folklore, the most ancient form of expressive culture, including tales, legends, proverbs and songs. Many collections have already been published to document material gathered in various villages and areas. But not all works of folklore have been collected yet. Folklore lives as long as people live. One of the assignments for students is to collect and write down works of folklore. Folklore Practices is a methodological guide that helps find people, encourage them to talk, and explains what questions should be asked and how to build a conversation to find out as much as possible. The book includes the following chapters: fairy tales, ritual lore, small genres of Belarusian folklore, non-custom poetry, folk drama, spiritual verses and psalms, childlore and modern urban folklore.
