In the last decade several Belarusian historians have been working to find out more about officials who worked on the territory of the present-day Belarus. Fyodar Charnyauski's Officials (Positions, Titles) in the Minsk Province in 16th-18th Centuries is one of the most detailed works in the area. Unlike his colleagues Charnyauski does not only specify the period during which one person or another was in office, but also describes on their personal traits. The book is based on material that was found in Belarusian archives but was never been published before. Although the book consists of four sections each focusing on one office, Charnyauski says that his research will be complete when it covers all 36 positions that existed in the Minsk Province of the Grand Duchy of Litva.
