National Programme of the Official Development Assistance for 2008

The year 2007 was a breakthrough milestone for Slovak development cooperation. This year saw successful accomplishment of the Slovak Aid programme institutionalisation process. As of 1 January 2007, the Slovak Agency for International Development Co-operation was incorporated. 1 February 2008 is the effective day of the Official Development Assistance Act, which sets out the long-term legał framework for effective provision of Slovak ODA. Over the years 2004 - 2007, Slovak Aid approved implementation of 229 development projects totalling more than SKK 18 million. The projects provided for significant assistance to aid beneficiaries, made Slovakiayet more visible abroad, deepened ourties with partner countries, opened the door for Slovak organisations striving to effectively establish themselves abroad and also created new institutional and expert capacities in Slovakia.
