If we think of the harm that the Chernobyl nuclear power station explosion has done and will do to people it may well be considered the biggest disaster of the XX century, a national affliction that has changed the destinies of thousands upon thousands of people living on a vast territory. The Chernobyl accident has set excentionally complex, global tasks embracing practicallv all aspects of human life, many realmsof science and production, problems of morality and ethics. (fragment)
