The "Colours of Orthodoxy. Poland" is a presentation of the beauty and many colours of Orthodoxy in Poland captured by the lens of a camera. It is also a reason to remind ourselves that Orthodoxy has been constantly present in this land since the IX century. The origins of Orthodoxy in the southern parts of Poland are connected with the Christian mission of brothers Sts. Cyril and Methodius and their followers. The seeds that they sowed brought forth a harvest, which bloomed in various historical periods and withered in others, but constantly developed and took form, so as to result in complete jurisdictional independence - autocephaly. The Orthodox Church in Poland holds twelfth place among fifteen autocephalous local churches. Its structure includes seven dioceses (one of them serving the military), over 250 parishes and 11 monasteries. (Introduction, fragment)
