Local Poems Mira Luksha Local poems is the only collection of poetry by Belarusian writer Mira Luksha in Polish. Every poem is dedicated to a person who Luksha met and who left an imprint on her memory, feelings or mood. The characters are prominent and ordinary people, but everyone has a trait distinguishing his or her personality from others. Every poem is named after its character. The content reveals a secret, in particular who the person is. The characters include Podlasie cultural figures, renowned composers, artists or ordinary people that stand out from the crowd because of their interests, hobbies, behavior or the way of life. The title emphasizes that every person described in the poems comes from one locality. Luksha does not comment on their ethnic or religious background. All these people were born in the Bialowieza Forest area and drink their juice of life from this land.
