In 2006, Belarusian schoolchildren submitted more than 200 essays about freedom for a contest. Obviously, the topic affected them. This proves that Belarusian children are not indifferent to the issue of freedom. Essays are different. Some are captivating, others written in a conventional way. Some children attempted to create works of literature, while others did some research, used sources, quotes and drawings. The authors have different, and conflicting at times, ideas of freedom.
