The book was published on the occasion of Aleksandr Pushkin's 200th birthday. What is special about it is that it includes research papers on the role of Belarus in Pushkin's works. For instance, some literature scholars say that novel character Dubrovsky is a descendant of the Minsk gentry. In addition, many moments of Pushkin's private life are connected with Belarus. Part II features articles on the role of Pushkin in literature and culture of Belarus. It includes material on the poet's influence on cultural thinking, theater and television. Some researchers draw parallels between Pushkin and Belarusian poet Maksim Bahdanovich. The book includes translations of Pushkin into Belarusian and Belarusian poetry dedicated to the Russian poet.
