The book talks about the life fate of Danata Henrykhauna Murzionak (née Mazhejka), who for more than forty years worked as a primary school teacher in the schools of the Pastavy region in Belarus and in the Belarusian Saturday class in Ottawa (Canada). During her lifetime, she taught about 600 Belarusian children to write and read beautifully, dance and sing. The book talks not only about the school, but also about the teacher’s childhood, the difficult post-war years, and studies at a teacher college, as well as about the life of village teachers, including life and work in the village of Dvarchany, where she and her husband lived together for forty-five years, and celebrated their diamond wedding anniversary after migration to Canada. There is also a story about how she manages herself in her senior age, left without a husband in a distant country far from her homeland. The book contains pictures from family archives.
