Human Rights Center "Viasna" is a non-governmental organization that was created in April 1996 during mass actions of protest against the authoritarian regime in Belarus. HRC "Viasna" gives real support to victims of political repression: members of various political parties, NGOs, and trade unions. The efforts of the HRC "Viasna" are also directed at search for the financial means to support the prisoners of consciousness at the places of imprisonment, their families, the families of the public and political figures who disappeared, victims of illegal actions of the police, people who have been fired from their jobs or expelled from educational establishments for their political views. The Center operates a public reception room, in the frames of which our lawyers give legal advice to people.
