But those calendars focused on major dates and offered carefully-selected and screened information. They never mentioned dates relating to communist purges, emigration and other controversial themes. Uladzimir Khilmanovich included in his calendar as many facts about Belarus and its history as possible. It features birth and death dates of prominent, little known and even forgotten Belarusian figures who should be remembered. It includes turning points in history, when key treaties were signed, including humiliating ones. Several events are listed for every day accompanied by very succinct descriptions. This makes it easier for readers to figure out what information can be found on the next page.
