Let's Live by Alyaksey Kauka The book by Alyaksey Kauka saw the light in 1988. It is a collection of works on various subjects united by the theme of love for native Belarus. In his stories published in various periodicals in Belarus and Russia, Alyaksey helps readers discover personalities and events from our history, often brining forgotten stories to their attention. He devotes much space to reflections on the Belarusian language and literature. He writes about renowned figures such as Yanka Kupala and Yakub Kolas, and also about personalities forgotten because of tight censorship and Soviet propaganda. The book consists of three parts. The fist one features articles published in Belarus about the Belarusian language, culture and historical personalities. The second focuses on a man Kauka describes as his mentor. Part three includes articles on controversial subjects published in Russia. Kauka wanted the Russian readers to discover real Belarus untarnished by "brotherly love."
